Cube Steak

Ingredients:
Amount Ingredient
4 cube steaks
3 tbsp flour
3 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp cold unsalted butter
1 tsp brown sugar
.25 tsp black pepper
.5 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1.5 tsp onion powder
.5 tsp chili powder
.5 tsp paprika
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup beef broth
1 cube beef bouillion
1.5 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 large yellow onion

Meat Seasoning

Combine the following ingretients in a small bowl and set aside: - 1 teaspoon brown sugar - .25 teaspoon black pepper - .5 teaspoon salt - .5 teaspoon garlic powder - .5 teaspoon onion powder - .5 teaspoon chili powder - .5 teaspoon paprika

Gravy Prep

  1. Combine cornstarch, chicken, and beef broth in a medium bowl, whisk until smooth.
  2. Add : bouillion cube, 1 tsp onion powder, .5 tsp garlic powder, and Worcestershire

Dish

  1. Place saran wrap over steak and use the rough end of the meat tenderizer to poind thin. (1/2 inch thick)
  2. Rub both sides of meat with seasoning mix, then flour.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat.
  4. Sear steaks for 3 minutes per side. (Dont over crowd the pan.) Place on a plate to rest.
  5. Once complete searing steaks, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat in pan.
  6. Add onions, cook for 15-25 minutes until soft and starting to get some color.
  7. Add gravy mixture, scrape pan, bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer.
  8. Add steak and any juices back into the gravy, spooning some gravy over the top. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes and gravy is thickened.
  9. Add 2 tablespoons cold butter to gravy and mix to finish.
